FLUFF'S STORY by her owner Karen

When my fiancée showed me a picture of Fluffy it was love at first sight! Regular visitors to the CP site may recognise her from the home page - she's the gorgeous, inquisitive, calico cat. We called the local fosterer who was caring for her and arranged a visit....when we arrived she was so friendly and chatty I simply couldn't leave her. Fluff came to live with us that same Halloween night, 2001.

We considered changing Fluff's name as it really doesn't suit her.....she's far too feisty! In the end we decided to keep it the same as she was so timid and unsure at first that I didn't want to confuse her further. Fluff spent the first two weeks living in the kitchen and hiding behind the microwave, washing machine and on top of the cupboards, though we gradually gained her trust and her true character emerged. It took her about two years to accept strangers but she is now queen of the house, dictating to us, demanding our attention and looking quite put out if someone is taking up her space on the sofa! She is rather a bully to the neighbourhood cats and very territorial, but she doesn't mind the tom cats! She is a typical calico cat.....very changeable in temperament and affection is on her terms only; she will never be a lap cat. Fluff is prone to erratic behaviour; calm one minute and darting about the house and garden like a nutter the next. Fluff loves to have her tummy rubbed, but doesn't like being brushed, which is unfortunate as she needs daily brushing because she's long-haired. We don't really know how old she is, but think somewhere in the region of 8/9 years old. Fluff sleeps on the bed next to my head and wakes me in the morning by licking my hair and face and patting my face and mouth with her paw.......if she gets impatient, she uses her claws.........ouch!

She is very intelligent and sensitive. Fluff's favourite things are ....Sleeping, music, wet food which is a treat as it's bad for her teeth, catnip, tuna, smelling strangers' feet to identify them, being in the bathroom while we are in there, and sitting on my papers or bag when I'm trying to study (as you can see in the photo!). Fluff loves certain types of music and her favourite is 'Close to me' by The Cure.......she sits next to the speakers and rolls against them! She doesn't like sudden movement or loud voices, small children, vacuum cleaners, other female cats, travelling to the vet or the ironing board (?!). I love her dearly and wouldn't be without her......

Molly and Jessie
Molly and Jessie are two mischievious cats who love to investigate.

Jessie the tortie will climb the step ladder upinto the loft and stay there for hours, while Molly will climb into the cupboard and try to open the sachets of her favourite cat food.

Jeffrey
Jeffrey turned up at his family's home one New Years Night looking for food, and he stayed ever since! As you may be able to tell from the photo he likes his food and his creature comforts - once he has had his supper he will curl up on the sofa by the fire and stay there until his breakfast is served.

Sophie
Sophie was a rescue cat from CP - she loves human contact and will happily spend all her time following someone from room to room. She acts as a furry alarm clock each morning when she wakes her owners up at 5am for her breakfast - and she will not leave them alone until her mission is accomplished!

This is Star, a beautiful little cat who sadly only had a short life, but is still fondly remembered and missed.
