If you love cats, but perhaps can’t have one of your own, sponsoring a cat could be the next best thing!

We usually find new homes quite easily for young healthy cats, but older cats, or those with medical conditions requiring special diets or regular medication are often not wanted as pets. When this happens our fosterers continue to care for them, as we never have a cat put to sleep unless advised to do so for medical reasons.

Our workers are all volunteers, and we raise the money we need to pay for the care and veterinary treatment of our rescued cats by organising fund-raising events, as well as through donations from the public and our branch members.

If you would like to help us by sponsoring one of our ‘long-term residents’, we would ask for a monthly payment by Banker’s Order, and in return you would:
Be welcome to go and meet the cats and choose which one to sponsor.
Receive regular email updates and photos of your cat.
Be able to visit your cat by arrangement with their fosterer.

The amount you pay each month is entirely up to you. We work to help cats because we love them, and any help from others who feel the same is always gratefully received.

These are the cats who currently need sponsors:

This is Sheba, who came into our care when her elderly owner died. Because of this we're not sure how old she is, and don't know anything about her medical history. Unfortunately poor Sheba has a neurological disease that causes her head to shake. Despite this she is a lovely cat: friendly, affectionate and stoical.

Because of her medical problems, and the cost of her treatment, we are not seeking a new home for Sheba. Instead, we hope to find sponsors willing to make a small monthly donation towards her care. We feel that Sheba deserves to be looked after with kindness and care - can you help?

Shushi came into our care towards the end of 2002, and has settled very happily into his new foster home. (This is him on his favourite chair!)

We think he is about 15 years old, but with medication and a special diet for his kidney problems, we hope he has a few more years left in him yet!
