We are the Greenwich Branch of
Cats Protection, a UK Registered Charity dedicated to rescuing, neutering and
re-homing unwanted and stray cats.

Our Branch workers are all volunteers, and we raise the money we need to pay for the care and veterinary treatment of our rescued cats from our shop in Blackheath, by organising fund-raising events, and from donations from the public and our Branch members.

If you can spare as little as a few hours a month, either working with cats or helping in our shop, we'd love to hear from you!

To get involved in the work of the Greenwich Branch or just have a chat about how you could help, either caring for cats or working in our shop, please give us a call at the shop on
020 8858 2220 or send us an email.

Cats Protection was founded in 1927, and Cats Protection’s vision is to ensure that every cat is given the chance of life where it will be treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

We also seek to alleviate the problem of unwanted cats, by offering information and advice about responsible cat ownership and promoting the benefits of neutering.

Our objectives are:
To find good homes for cats in need
To support and encourage the neutering of cats
To improve people’s understanding of cats and their care

The Greenwich Branch of Cats Protection covers the area bounded by the River Thames to the north, Lewisham Borough boundary to the west, the old A2 to the south, and Bexley Borough boundary to the east.

PLEASE remember how important it is to have your cat neutered.
A female cat, in just five years, can be responsible for 20,000 descendants, and the result is an exploding cat population. As you can probably imagine, many of these kittens will be unwanted and unloved.

If you are on a low income, and live on our patch, we may be able to help with the cost of neutering your cat. Call 020 8659 0074 for more information.

It's "Kitten Season" again, and we'll almost certainly be faced with having to find homes for kittens just like the ones in this photograph.

Please remember that if you are looking for a kitten they need a garden, so we do not rehome them in flats, or in homes where there are children under five years of age.
